Tiveden
Tiveden is a paradise for the active holidaymaker, but also a place offering rest and respite for body and soul. The gnarled primeval forest of Tiveden was once a fearsome place renowned for its wolves and brigands. Today´s National Park provides a taste of genuine Tiveden nature and attracts over 100 000 visitors a year. They come for the unsurpassed stillness and peace, but also to challenge this demanding natural environment. Fishing in one of the thousands of lakes or ponds is one way of combining the two.

Rumour has it that there are still trolls hereabouts and anyone who is out and about at dawn or dusk will soon be convinced it´s true. There´s plenty of room for trolls in the seventy kilometres of forest with not a town in sight. Tiveden´s villages and farms, water and forests, offer all the space you need to live life at your own pace.
Tiveden also has its own genuine castle. Once bought by Karl XIV Johan, Stjernsund Castle is now open to the public. Besides royal splendour, the castle´s attractions include glorious views across Alsen bay and the fantastic gardens.
