Nobel grew up in St Petersburg and spent much of his life travelling. Towards the end of his lifetime he bought the Bofors ironworks in Karlskoga as the site of his Swedish HQ. The aging cosmopolitan fell in love with the beautiful little manor house at Björkborn and set up his laboratory here with the best equipment of the day.Manor House and Laboratory
