Kindla Nature reserve

Discover nature in the Örebro region -- where most of the Swedish nature types can be found in a small area. In the northern part, the vast, deep forests of Bergslagen can be found. Here, there are possibilities for weeklong hikes on many miles of hiking trails. You can fish, swim and enjoy the peace and quiet

Several premier bird lakes

Örebro is the largest city in the area (pop. 130,000). Around Örebro, there are several of Sweden´s premier bird lakes, where every year ten of thousands of whooper swans, geese and cranes rest during their trip up towards the Swedish mountains.

The mythical Kilsbergen

To the west are the KilsbergenMountains, which offer exciting hiking opportunities on controlled paths. Marked trails make it impossible to get lost. Shelters with fire rings, along with good maps, make your day or weeklong trip much easier. You´ll catch amazing views from many places along the way.

Bergslagsleden /The Bergslag Trail

Our crown jewel is Bergslagsleden (the Bergslag Trail).  A 280 km long hiking trail, it goes from Kloten in the north to Vättern (Sweden´s second largest lake) in the south. Munkastigen (Monk Path) is another trail in the southern part of the county, following Middle Age pilgrim trails through the magical TivedenNational Park.

Canoe routes

There´s more to the Örebro area than just hiking. The Örebro County Regional Development Council has also developed a system of well-organized canoe routes. Along these, there are shelters for camping, fire rings and possibilities for fishing and swimming. For cycling enthusiasts, we also offer several bike trails.
