Study tour 1


Local system for production, upgrading, distribution and use of renewable fuels for public transport etc


 
First stop
Visit to the new Örebro Biogas production plant started in October 2009. At the moment the biggest in Sweden with a capacity of 60 GWh or 6 MNm3 upgraded CBG. The biogas is mainly produced from agricultural residues and crops and bi-products from food industry. The biogas is transported via pipeline to public filling stations and to the bus depot.
Parts of the production will be delivered to Stockholm, to support the growing biogas market there.

Second stop
Visit to sewage treatment plant Örebro, Skebäck where biogas is upgraded to vehicle fuel. The upgraded biogas is transported via pipeline to public filling stations.

Third stop
Bus depot in ÖrebroCity. In October 2009 the diesel powered city busses in Örebro were replaced by 61 new MAN biogas driven buses. At the same time a new modern bus depot for urban and rural bus traffic was inaugurated. The depot includes compressor station, storage facilities for CBG and CNG. Länstrafiken(Responsible for public busses) and Swelink will inform about their work to lower green gas and other emissions from their fleets. Testing of RME, biogas, ecodriving etc.

Eco2 Trainer-simulator for eco-driving training and green-award winning transport company


 
First stop
TrafficCenter ScantecAB. A Center for education and training in road safety, environment, ecodriving etc. Ecodriving training can be done in an environmental friendly way using the ECO2-trainer simulator.

Second stop
ÖGS-bolaget (Schenker). A green-award winning transport company with long practical experience in energy efficient fleet management and individual follow up of the drivers driving behaviour.

Planning efficient transportation in cities - cycling or walking tour in Örebro city
